On engineering design: one of the amazing properties of mycelium is its ability to become one with its kind. When MYCOSMOS was first conceived as a sketch, I had wanted to create a series of lamps orbiting around other planets/lamps in a stellar system, to showcase this innate ability. We already know that mycelium acts as binder, a glue. But are we able to spot weld pieces together to bring forth the illusion of floatation?

MYCOSMOS showed that this was possible. By utilising fungal high technology, we were able to showcase both mycelial and fruit body welds to create an illusion of separation, which is essentially held together by oneness. Much like our reality.

Duality is born from oneness. We are all interconnected. May mushrooms continue to guide us all.
